Newly manufactured automatic cigarette rolling machine of the same unchanged design that existed even before WWII. See the 1931 advertisement for the same roller in the images. Metal with red painted finish. I like the red finish better than the silver plated ones - paint would have been a way to save money and materials compared to a more expensive plating.
These are very practical items, you can store tobacco, and papers inside and when you want a cigarette just open the tin, tuck some tobacco into the cloth rollers, insert (and lick) the rolling paper to the back of the tobacco and then simply close the tin. A perfectly rolled cigarette will pop out of the top of the tin. Nice plain style.
