It was a very popular solution to the moth problem and often appears on other wool garments.  You will not find these tags anywhere else. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe had them made for our (now sold out) \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.kriegsendemilitaria.com\/products\/german-army-blanket\"\u003ereproduction army blankets\u003c\/a\u003e. We used our 3 letter code \"kem\" on the bottom of the label to identify them as reproduction in a subtle way. The 3 letter code on the bottom of the tag did not indicate the manufacturer and we have found many, many letter variations so using our letter code is not such a bad thing. We also noticed much variation in the weave of originals so the very subtle variations in our reproduction compared to the original are well within acceptable tolerances.  When we prepared the artwork, we spent over 20 hours mapping out each individual thread to make the reproduction as accurate as possible. The type of weave leaves some very long exposed threads which, over time, will snag, fray, and pull to wear out very similar to the original. These were still bundled together in groups of 40 with strips of cloth (some strips of SS camo). One collar in each bundle was marked VA1939 which is an early SS marking. \u003cstrong\u003eNO, you will not get one marked VA 1939, I am keeping those.\u003c\/strong\u003e The collars appear to have been standard feldgrau on white at one time and then they were batch dyed black. Possibly a change in regulations to reduce the visibility of the white cloth in the field as many soldiers wore their collars open which showed the white of the collar liner. These are generally a black color and all early SS-VT kragenbinde although they are generally unmarked. We did have 2 (VA 1939) marked collars but we are keeping those as examples. This will not only make your tunic more comfortable and hygienic, but it will also help keep the tunic clean. Regulations state that you are to remove and wash the collar liner on a daily basis. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWarning: you might have to do some sewing!\u003c\/strong\u003e The buttons in your tunic may need to be moved to install your collar liner. To wear this liner, you button it in the tunic using the three back neck buttons, then when you button your tunic up, you cross the liner over itself and button it using the button and button hole on the liner itself. You can also simply let it hang out when your collar is worn in the open position or button it to your tunic using the lower most buttons located inside the tunic near the upper chest or throat area.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTHESE ARE SIZED. \u003c\/strong\u003e Measure your neck with metric cloth tape measure.  Whatever your neck measures, go about 1 centimeter larger. We have several sizes: 37cm, 39cm, 41cm, 43cm, and 45cm. If it does not quite fit, you can move the button a bit or simply tuck the loose ends in and never button it. Wearing it floppy and open is fairly common in original photographs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe markings vary from piece to piece, some are marked inside with number like 41 43 or 45, sorry, no choice. Sometimes, the markings inside do not match the actual size of the collar, we measured each and every one to ensure a good fit. The collars likely were the size they are marked with at one time but then they probably shrunk when they were dyed. Some of the 45cm ones are a tad big and may be 46cm (even though they are marked 45). The body style of the round is appropriate for either type of round. This is a copy of the early round which has a large fuse adapter ring. The main body of the round is printed as a single piece from silver PLA with a layer height of 0.2-0.3. The fuses are all printed in black TPU which makes the fuse a little bit rubbery; you can crush the fuse in your fingers and it will come back to shape. The rounds are quite strong for their weight, and, in testing, have held up to about 3 or so firings before losing a fin or suffering other damage. Some were damaged on the first shot some many many shots later. Even when damaged, they seem to remain usable for another shot or two. These look very good but are tuned more for strength and good layer adhesion over surface finish. The fuses often have a lack of skin on the very top, some print better than others. The rounds which are sold here are the ones which print with some cosmetic issues which preclude us from using them to paint and turn into display rounds.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe rounds have been designed around an 82.5mm tube (3.25\") This matches the diameter of the tubing which I have always used to create my reproduction tubes and also matches with many original German tubes in the US as many were imports from eastern block countries which bored out the tubes to 82.5mm for use with soviet rounds. The rounds slide nicely in our tubes but still fit very closely.
