Original "Deutsche Haltung vor Fremden" (German attitude towards strangers)  book from 1943 with a handwritten inscription. A guide for German soldiers on how to behave in occupied lands (mostly geared towards Eastern Front). It basically says that, you as a soldier, represent what is German to them, so if you behave badly (or act like a drunken fool), it reflects poorly on all Germans. They don't see you as an individual, but rather as a representative for how all Germans are. It says that even if you conquer lands, if you are tremendously disliked by the population, your victory will be short lived. First published as a tornisterschift by the Oberkommandos der Wehrmacht. The book seems to have been gifted. It is a little beat up with some wear on the spine, but still holding together. Very interesting book.
