Description
This is an old serving jug with the date 1945 on the front. Underneath it is marked 04 indicting that it has the capacity to hold 0.4 liters. It is maker-marked, Schaubach (Wallendorf). The original name of the company (specializing in porcelain) was Wallendorf and it dates back to the 1700s (the W in between "Schau" and "bach" on the bottom of the mug is the original company's logo). Heinz Schaubach purchased the company in 1932. The company was nationalized by the East German government in 1953. The mug measures about 3 5/8 inches tall and is in very good shape.
