Original WWII first pattern WAVES summer enlisted uniform jacket and skirt. One of the rarer uniform pieces - only used in the summer of 1943. The set doesn't come up often.

    MEASUREMENTS (approximate):
    JACKET:
    Bust - 35"
    Waist - 29"
    Length - 24"
    SKIRT:
    Waist - 25 1/2"
    Hips - 36"
    Length - 24 1/2"

The jacket is named to Lois Washburn. It has the blue "Made and sold under the authority of the U.S. Navy U.S. Women's Naval Reserve" tag, a size 14 tag (please check measurements to ensure fit as a vintage size 14 is different than a modern size 14) and a Women's Naval Reserve label in the inside pocket. The skirt has the Women's Naval Reserve label by the zipper. The skirt has no size tag.

The set is in good condition. This lighter weight material was made as an alternative to the wool for summer. However, it proved to be unpopular so it was abandoned. The WAVES collar patches have been glued on. It seems that the uniform has been washed a few times. There is some lint and fuzz in the skirt pockets.
