Description
German aluminum bread/sandwich tin. A good bread bag stuffer to keep your sandwich safe. These were an important part of everyday life for Germans, so it is no wonder they found their way to the front lines as well. Bread tins are frequently found by battlefield diggers across Europe and Russia. They were even being produced as early as WWI. They are pictured on the cover of the 1939 Der Sportler catalog.
It is in overall good condition with light wear, scratches and slight dents. This one is larger and deeper than most.
