• 3 x Edeka 100g Shopping Bags

  • $3.00 USD

  • Description

Dead stock Edeka grocery store 100g paper bags. This is a generic bag that would have been used for a plethora of products that would have been sold by weight at the store. Just the sort of thing you might have in your pocket when returning to the front after leave. The price is for 3 bags. They are in overall good condition, but some have wear on the edges and/or age-related discoloration.

Edeka is the largest supermarket chain in Germany and was founded in 1898. The Edeka company has a very interesting history as it managed to survive so much. It had 524 co-ops in Germany before WWII broke out (the receipt mentions having 525 locations so it must be very early 1940s). Between 1936 and 1939 Edeka was hit with intense regulations and controlled prices. In spite of huge losses, Edeka proved to be a stable company, even when in 1943 its Berlin headquarters office was bombed and burned down.
