Vintage 1940s WWII American Red Cross Production Corps uniform dress and veil.

    MEASUREMENTS (approximate):
    Bust - 39"
    Waist - 33"
    Hips - 41"
    Length - 41"

The dress has mother of pearl buttons shank buttons with cotter pins. There are dark blue cuffs and epaulets. It comes with the Production Corps pin. Sterigram label. Marked size 18 (please refer to above measurements to ensure fit). The veil is marked American Red Cross Auxiliary #86.

No attempt has been made to clean this. There is some overall yellowing and aging. Staining near the hem, on the pocket, on the sleeves and shoulders. See photos Rust spots on the sleeve and on the veil. I think most of the stains should launder out - however I don't know if the blue cuffs and epaulets are colorfast.

The Production Corps was the largest of the Red Cross Volunteer Special Services. They made and repaired 64 million pieces of clothing, prepared over 2.5 billion surgical dressings and assembled 30 million comfort kits for use by the US military and its Allies as well as civilian victims of war. In 1942-43, there were 3.5 million volunteers.
