First Pattern WAVES Summer Uniform Tunic
Original WWII first pattern WAVES summer uniform tunic. One of the rarer uniform pieces - only used in the summer of 1943.
Bust - 37"
Waist - 31"
Length - 24 1/2"
It has the blue "Made and sold under the authority of the U.S. Navy U.S. Women's Naval Reserve" tag and a size 14 tag (please check measurements to ensure fit as a vintage size 14 is different than a modern size 14).
It is named to Marcia Emily Root. Marcia was born in October 1913. She served as Seaman AM 2/C as an Aviation Metalsmith and Photographers Mate at the Naval Air Station, Miami, Florida, after boot training at Hunter College in New York City and at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Norman, OK.
It is in good condition overall, but does have some flaws. There are scattered red and white-ish stains. I photographed the most noticeable spots. It is still wearable as the stains are not too distracting.
