An extremely nice and virtually complete example of the headset for the FF33 field phone. It is pretty clear to me that this was put away somewhere and hasn't been touched since the end of the war and it was probably only lightly used, if at all, during the war. This is made to plug into the FF33 field phone in order to allow a second person to listen in. It was regulation to have a second listener to verify certain messages as one person might get it wrong or not understand the entire message.
The only thing that is missing is the small round dark blue felt pad that would have been on the opposite side of the headband. It basically disintegrated into fluff and pieces. Even with that minor detail missing, this is the second most complete example I have ever seen (I am keeping the most complete one that was found alongside this one). It even still has the alternate leather headband strapped into the lid. The leather case shows some age, but is still a fairly good example. It is dated 40 made by GRAF in Leipzig WaA 170. The speaker is marked jkn 41. The steel headband is also waffen amt stamped. This has been tested and is in working order. The strap on the leather case is in good condition, but I would not put great strain on it. I will hold it closed with plastic wrap for shipping. I have seen a number of these with broken straps, so I want to make every effort to preserve this one in its current condition. My recommendation would be to either display it open or display the contents with the closed pouch at the side.
Really quite rare to find one so complete and in such good condition. Individual components pop up, but most are pretty beat up.
This item will ship with insurance and may need to be signed for.
