Interesting item. Not sure who or when this thing was made, but it seems like maybe something that was made in the field like a sort of trench art thing. It does seem like the sort of thing a soldier might make and think would be useful to their situation. It is made from German parachute cord with the cloth at the center looking like deployment bag material. So whoever made this had a whole parachute to work from. There appears to be a rather hefty rock at the center. The cord is frayed in places and there are some pulls in the weave. Just an odd piece. It is a bit dirty and discolored. It is quite heavy for what it is - weighing just under 2.5 pounds.
