Original orange Bakelite (pollopas) salt container in very good condition. One of the best examples I have seen. Only very minor wear. Around the rim where the lids tightens down to, there are some lines which look like cracks, but these have probably been there since the day it was made due to internal material stresses. These lines are common in the orange butter dishes and similar items. It will be hard to find a better example than this. I will regret having sold this someday regardless of the price.
These are actually made of a material called pollopas, a more stable, food safe form of Bakelite.
