This is probably in reference to the Vinnenberg Monastery. The oldest documented mention of the monastery is from 1256. During WWII, the buildings were used as a "National Socialist people's home" by the NS district leadership of Münster and Warendorf, as well as the Luftgaukommando VI Westphalia. The monastery church was converted into a warehouse. The area was bombed in 1943. The Americans marched in in April 1945. The US Army only used the monastery as a hospital for a few days because of its unfavorable location. After the American troops had given their consent, the sisters returned on May 2, 1945. Full history is available here (text in German).
