Red Cross Nurse Aide Apron, Blouse and Hat

Original WWII American Red Cross (ARC) nurse's aide apron, white short sleeve blouse and hat.

Chambray pinafore apron that buttons up the back with a nurse aide pin in the front. It is in fair condition. There is some staining throughout the apron. The hat a small stain and a small hole. The hat has some extra stitching by the patch. The blouse is in good condition - the tag inside is washed out. The hat is a very small size probably a size 20 or 20 1/2. The cap has one button in the center that both ends attach to. It could be made larger by moving the button and adding a second button.

The Volunteer Nurse aide pin could be fastened at the center front of the jumper at the neckline. This uniform was allowed to be worn after the first 34 hours of the Nurses' Aides course (which lasted a total time of 80 hours) had been completed.
