Newer made German map board. Typically used for artillery plotting or by officers. It is a nice wooden frame with an aluminum plate and a sheet of clear plastic to allow you to put in a map and use grease pencil to your hearts content. Two eyelets on the top for a carrying strap.
These are interesting. I have found one or two that I know were Wehrmacht used, I have also found similar ones that were postwar and used to hold menus at restaurants and I know there is a slightly more modern version still used by archeologists. This one is newer made and maybe not quite as well made as others I have had. The frame is a little loose. Still a very nice one for a display or for reenacting.
