Top Notch "Coconut" Canteen HRE42

This is a very very nice example of a tropical "coconut" canteen. It appears to be unissued and is near mint. There is a small shallow chip on one side in the wood and I believe the canteen cup is replaced, although it is still an original. The straps are so nice that you can still see the red crayon lines on the material which were used to help align pieces during manufacturing. This crayon wears off very easily and normally only survives on unissued pieces that never saw the light of day. It would be very difficult to find a nicer example. If you happen to own another lesser canteen with a nice cup, you could swap them out and have a basically perfect example. The webbing strap is the nicest strap I have seen on any tropical canteen. It doesn't appear to have ever had any water in it. The inside is extremely clean and the rubber gasket is like new.
