Original Luftwaffe M35 double decal helmet with the original liner and Luftwaffe brown chinstrap. The drawstring is replaced, but everything else on the helmet is not just original, it is all original to the helmet. It has not been messed with, modified, improved, or messed up.
The condition is reasonably good. The largest detractor is the flaked off 3 color shield. This was an unfortunately very common occurrence and this helmet was no exception. It was not intentionally removed, the decal and glue just degraded. What is left of it seems reasonably stable. The Adler decal has held up better, but does still have a few small chips. This is a reasonably nice helmet that displays quite well. The shell is an ET64 lot number 3821. The liner band is marked Braunschweig 1938. The chin strap is marked Paul Klopper Wein 1939. The leather is fairly soft and flexible. The chin strap isn't in danger of breaking, but I would still handle it delicately. The chin strap was stored over the bill of the helmet when I got it and It is slightly formed to fit there after probably decades of sitting like that, so I left it. It does flex and come on and off easily.
This is actually coming out of my own collection, where its been on the shelf for a few years. I recently found a slightly more attractive M40 and I only have so much room to properly display helmets, so I will release this one back into the wild.
