Not for use with a ground! Use this battery only with a double line set up. The ground can potentially draw more current.
Reproduction German FF33 field phone 4 volt rechargeable battery. This is NOT an adapter like our previous reproductions. This is a sealed lead, non-spillable battery. Phones originally ran on 1.5 volts however, the 4 volt battery is perfectly safe for the phone and does provide a much stronger transmission with better clarity. The phones are capable of running safely on a variety of voltages, as some postwar modifications and testing by various people over the years has confirmed.
I have been using my own phones more regularly and wanted to find a battery with just a little bit more umpf to improve the call quality. This is also a substantial power reserve compared with the D sized batteries many people normally use. It certainly has enough power to get you through a weekend event and probably enough to last a year or more before needing recharged. These batteries provide a much louder and clearer connection than the previous reproductions.

This is a replica of a mid/late war battery with a simplified top consisting of rubber sealant with a positive and negative wire protruding out and two paper "vent" tubes. Two modern wire nuts protect the ends of the wires for shipping and I would recommend keeping those for safe, no spark, storage. The leads are made from stranded copper for flexibility but I did solder the ends to make them easier to use.
The label artwork has been restored from original graphics and is not merely a direct dirty photocopy. They were printed on original paper stock and will not bleed when wet (please avoid getting your battery wet anyway).
