Reproduction HEER (Wehrmacht) cleaning/polishing cloths (putztuch). These are made in Germany specifically for us on an antique loom that has been making these branded cleaning cloths for many, many decades. An ideal accessory for nearly every impression; from vehicle tool kits to weapons and uniform maintenance. Originals are basically impossible to find as this is the sort of item that is designed to be completely used up. It is meant for heavy, filthy use. Its basically a Wehrmacht paper towel. Just like most factories and hotels of the era, the army didn't want you walking off with their towels, so they ordered them with the HEER property marking woven into the towel itself. I typically find similar towels associated with greasy, oily tasks like vehicle tool kits and certain weapons cleaning set although there is very little information on this exact towels exact function.
I have seen a number of variations with regards to weave and font and color palette over the years; in fact, I don't think I have seen any two original examples that were the same. Either a different font, or different use of capital and lower case letters or stripes or no stripes... If I sell all of these I will probably make them again in a different font or maybe in lower case in keeping with this wide variation. If they go well in general, I will also look into Luftwaffe or SS versions.
This is a project years in the making. I have been searching for someone able to do them correctly for nearly 10 years and it took a chance encounter to meet the man with the loom. I spent much time just trying to get something at least close and in the end got something made on the same machine.
