  • Description

Original 1944 book titled: Axis Rule in Occupied Europe - Laws of Occupation, Analysis of Government, Proposals for Redress. It is a comprehensive study of Axis policies, laws, and the resulting effects. This book is the one in which the author, Raphael Lemkin, first coined the term "genocide" in order to describe what was happening in Europe. This is an extremely important book historically and did much to shape the views of the world as the war came to a close and, in many ways, still does. It is very well written and speaks quite plainly about the subjects at hand.

This first edition, paperback copy is allegedly a pre-print version which was intended for internal use only. I do not know how many of this particular early paperback were made, but they are extremely rare.

Publication of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Division of International Law, Washington.

This one is in fair, used condition with damage. There are some stains on the cover and sign of general wear and use. The spine is a bit worn, but the book is holding together. I did not see any serious condition issues.

I tried to research this specific paperback version and was unable to find any comparable sold listings. I did, however, find some currently for sale at around $1700-$1900. I priced mine well below that and the price is negotiable, so feel free to make an offer.
