The style and form are typical of the 1930's and shares a lot with the hand carved wooden bread plates made in an SS workshop. Although every plate was slightly different from the next, many do follow a typical theme or pattern. I have not managed to connect this exact phrase with the SS workshop program I would be more surprised to find out it was not related than I would be to find out it is, but that's just the feeling I get from this nice gemütlich bread plate.
