Period correct vintage German safety pins in black. Wartime safety pins are different than modern pins in that one side of the end is a solid piece. They do not make safety pins like this any more or at least not that I can find; perfect for the detail-oriented reenactor. They are a slightly larger size, measuring approximately 2" long.
These were stored in some sort of oil to protect them from rust; I have tried to wipe them clean, but cannot guarantee that all of the oil is removed. Some of the black finish has worn off on a few.
