Original black wool SS Allgemeine breeches. I am not an expert in Allgemeine, so my assessment of what exactly these are is based on the information I have been able to find in my reference books and online. I am always cautious with black 3rd Reich trousers. To start with, the pattern and construction matches identically to a number of identified original SS Allgemeine breeches. I have found at least 3 examples which are the identical cut although all have variations in the lining material. The lining material of this pair is very typical for SS trousers being made from green narrow HBT. They have the typical SS underwear loops with snaps. The buttons are a mix of plain and geared pattern DAF type buttons which appears on a number of other original examples. Unfortunately, the tag was removed. Even without the tag, the pattern matches so many examples that can be identified that I feel confident these are SS Allgemeine and not NSKK or HJ or DAF, etc...
Condition: There are a few small hand stitched repairs. I did not find any holes although I assume the repairs were holes. The soft finish of the wool has some patches of moth tracking but nothing has eaten down into the material. You can see this around the crotch and some other areas. All in all, not a perfect example, but a reasonably decent example.
Note: SS allgemeine items are not something I normally come across, buy or sell. I based the price on comparables currently available elsewhere and adjusted to suit the condition. If they were mint with the tag, it seems like these would be 1k+. Half that seems like a steep discount but condition is generally more important with "high end" type items. You might be getting a screaming deal or maybe worst case paying exactly what they are worth. I don't believe the price is too obscene. But again, thos is not my typical expertise.
