Original anodized aluminum fuel can for C stoff which was a mix of hydrazine hydrate and methanol. This fuel was used in the V2 to generate steam to run the turbopump for the main fuels. It was also the main propellent in a number of rocket projects including the ME 163 Komet and ME 263, the BA 349 Natter, and the HE 176 to name a few.
The can is a little bit beat up with some dents, dings and general wear. It is also still a bit dirty inside and out. It looks like it was probably found recently kicking around a farm somewhere in Germany. The history is fascinating enough but as cans go, its pretty great too. Very heavy and sturdy with a great latch. The only markings are the 3 letter code cba, D.R.P.ang 43. It is also marked 05 on the carrying handle. There is a missing band with would have wrapped around the canister at the top just under the taper.
A exceptionally neat piece of rocketry history. Clean this thing up and it would display well, either next to your ME 163 or in the entry hall as an umbrella stand.
Measures about 21 3/4" tall and the bottom is about 11 1/2" diameter
