Original Luftwaffe M40 Fliegerbluse with a silver grade frontflugspange für Kampf und Sturzkampflieger and Iron Cross ribbon. Yellow waffenfarbe was used for any personnel that actually used aircraft, so it included pilots, aircrew, and Fallschirmjäger. The tunic was cut down by the original wearer, as was common. A few inches were removed from the bottom edge of the tunic. This was done for the look and also the function of it. The collar tabs and tress appear to be originally applied. The eagle and iron cross are possibly reapplied, but are still original pieces. The eagle is a rather nice embroidered early droop tail example. The boards are also original. The tunic has some damage and some repairs, mostly around the neck and collar. I had this tunic on a mannequin for a few years and it does display quite well. Its much better looking than many similarly priced tunics.
The Frontflugspange is unmarked with wear to the finish and a small crack in the wreath portion of the badge. Its condition matches the tunic very nicely.
This ships with insurance and will probably need signed for.
