A fair example of a late war canteen. It has the perfect look for 1943-45. All of the components are quite nice and in fairly good condition, but none of the parts are from the same maker. The cup is very nice and marked ESB43. The cover is very nice, if a tiny bit to small for the aluminum bottle it is covering and it is made by a rather odd maker R&R. The bottle is aluminum, maker HRE38. The leather harness is another odd maker R.K.W.42. The leather is still very nice. I would not actively use the leather, but it is perfectly good to use for a mannequin or similar. It can still go onto and come off of many bread bags in it's life.
Ideally, if you need components to complete a matching canteen from one of these odd makers, this would be an excellent donor. I know the cup alone is damn near worth the price of the overall canteen in this condition.
