Description
Original unused VM40 Volksgasmaske 40 civilian luftschutz gas mask. It is in its original cardboard box and still has the little paper protector over the nose vent. The cardboard box is a little tattered and dirty. The mask is dirty and looks a little dry, but I don't see any signs of cracking or other damage. The lenses have yellowed. One corner of the box is ripped and there is a small hole in the top. Every German citizen was required by law to own a gas mask and emergency medical supplies in case of air raids and this is one of them. These masks contain asbestos, so they should not be worn.
