Vintage 1920s / 1930s German Ol. Bergamottae glass apothecary bottle with stopper. The label is actually a form of enamel which is fused onto the glass permanently. This gives the label a very nice dimensionality, like an old enamel sign. Extraordinary quality for a otherwise ordinary medicine bottle, a beautiful combination. Good condition.
Ol. Bergamottae is bergamot essential oil, made from orange peel. It is used as a flavoring, in cosmetics and perfumes and also in aromatherapy to supposedly help relieve stress.
