• Qui s'y Frotte, s'y Pique WWI French Pin

  • $20.00 USD

  • Description

Original WWI French pin. "Qui s'y frotte, s'y pique" is translated in several different ways, most commonly as "If you go looking for trouble you'll find it", however the literal translation appears to be "who rubs it pricks it" in reference to a porcupine. This phrase was the motto of the French 110th infantry regiment who fought at Verdun, the Somme and Marne.

The pin is in decent condition but it does show some wear. The paint has some chips and the pin has some rust. This was bought with several other pieces of French WWI sweetheart jewelry.
