Description
Original 25m steel tape measure. This is a slightly unusual tape measure as it is just the metal case without the leather cover normally found on the early examples of Wehrmacht tape measures. It does make perfect sense that they would have eventually eliminated the leather covers on these, as they are extremely unnecessary and a waste of leather.
This appears to be an unissued, unused example. I slightly doubted the paint at first, but everything about the tape measure is very clean and the markings are original so I do believe it is 100% good. It is just surprising to find such a utilitarian item in basically undisturbed condition. This one really should be going on my shelf, but I guess I am experiencing a momentary lapse in collector mentality.
