German rectangular aluminum bread / sandwich tin with a pebbled lid. Decent condition. A few dents on the corners and overall general wear.
A good bread bag stuffer to keep your sandwich safe. These were an important part of everyday life for Germans, so it is no wonder they found their way to the front lines as well. Bread tins are frequently found by battlefield diggers across Europe and Russia. They were even being produced as early as WWI.
They are pictured on the cover of the 1939 Der Sportler catalog.
