Period correct vintage German safety pins. Wartime safety pins are different than modern pins in that one side of the end is a solid piece - they did have ones similar to modern pins, but those seem to have been less common than the closed off end version. These ones also have a ball on one end (the ball is supposed to be gentler on clothing). They do not make safety pins like this any more or at least not that I can find; perfect for the detail-oriented reenactor.
