This is a great looking canteen and in excellent condition for a used item. This is an interesting piece as it has a typical late war strap which is made in two pieces to use less leather. It is also not dated and only the bottle is marked GNL so it is probably a late 44 or early 45 production. There is enough signs of use on the leather to indicate it did see service, but it must have been cared for by its original user. The cup is about as nice as you could ask for on the outside but there is a missing flake of paint on the inside. The enamel bottle is in very good condition. The cover is in very good condition, but seems to have shrunken a little bit as the top button will not reach to close.
