French Cockade fur clip made by Silson from about 1940. Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité. Gold plated, enamel. This one is not signed or marked, but it matches Victor Silson's design exactly. Some chips in the paint and wear to the finish.
Founded in 1937 by two brothers Victor and Jack Silberfeld, British citizens, who later changed their name to Silson. They became famous for their line of patriotic and military jewelry produced during the WWII. Silson Inc. of New York ceased to exist in the late 1940s.
