Vintage original German gray seamed stockings. Fully fashioned in a size 9. The size 9 means the foot is about 9" long and it is NOT the same as a shoe size (these would probably be best with a US women's shoe size 6.5-7.5). The material is the wonderfully silky soft synthetic material that I only find on German items. There is some brown staining (rust?) on the feet, but the stockings are in otherwise good condition with no runs.
Gray stockings are much harder to come by than the tan/nude colored stockings. Gray stockings were worn by nurses and military personnel (both DRK and helferin are often seen in photographs wearing gray) as well as for civilian use.
