Vintage WWII British women's Civil Defense (C.D.) A.R.P. (Air Raid Precautions) or N.F.S. (National Fire Service) greatcoat. Dated 1943.
MEASUREMENTS (approximate): **
Bust - 34"
Waist - 32"
Hips - 38"
Length - 44"
Sleeve (shoulder seam to cuff) - 24"
**Measurements taken on the outside. Your uniform is meant to be worn underneath, so none of these measurements should be tight. The mannequin's bust is about 34 1/4" and it was VERY tight on her.
The overcoat is either a black or a very very dark blue. Marked Size 9 and it is quite small. The wool is a bit scratchy (probably due to wartime rationing). Double sets of buttons. Two nice big pockets. Some wear on the collar and just general overall wear. The pockets has some small tears and fraying (hidden by the flap).
Overall good, wearable condition. You may want to have the coat dry cleaned before wearing.
