Description
Vintage 1940s civilian nurse wool cape with the initials B.C. M.H. on the collar. I do not know what hospital the letters stand for.
MEASUREMENTS (approximate):
Neck - 14"
Shoulders - 18 1/2"
Length - 29 3/4"It seems to be on the small to medium side. Dark blue outside, nice bright red inside. These "private purchase" capes were also worn by Cadet Nurses. Made by Bruck's Nurse's Outfitting Co. Inc. The original owner's initials are inside, D.V.S.
It is in OK condition - fortunately, the outside is in better shape than the inside. There are two small moth nibbles on the collar. The inside red lining has several moth holes.
