Schönheit der Arbeit large porcelain bowl. Made by Felda Rhön. This would have been found in a factory lunch room or similar setting. In good condition. There is writing underneath the red decorative bar on the plate. It is hard to make out, but it looks like "Textilwerk ____" So this was likely used at a company and then later that company changed names or closed and the next entity felt the need to black over the names on the plates. This one makes a great popcorn / chip bowl as it is quite large. You could use it for soup I suppose but it would hold all the soup.
The DAF (Deutshe Arbeitsfront) is the largest workers union in history which was a very different and political approach which basically sought to get the most of of workers while trying to improve their working conditions, vacation time etc... Basically acting almost like an arbitrator while also trying to ensure the best result was ultimately in favor of the state. A very interesting thing to read up on if you're not familiar. Anyway, one of the things they did is ensure employees had access to clean quality dining facilities.
Personally, I find nearly all of the porcelain produced for the DAF as well as the Wehrmacht to be very aesthetically pleasing and practical. I pretty much only use these at home. There is a quality about them that I can spot a mile away.
