  • Description

Vintage 1940s / 1950s handmade German dress made from longline bra.

    MEASUREMENTS (approximate):
    Bust - 30 1/2" (probably best suited for a B cup size)**
    Waist - 24 1/2"
    Hips - 37"
    Length - 39"

**the mannequin's bust is just a bit under 30 1/2" and it was hard to keep it in place. I am not sure how much more room it can accommodate to properly fill it out.

Interestingly made dress. The lightweight material is sewn into a black longline bra with stays. It needs to be worn with a half slip as the material is see-through, especially on the skirt. This dress is post-war made with a mix of wartime and postwar materials. The material is probably wartime and the Zipp metal zipper is wartime as it is marked "D.R.P. Nürnberg" but the bra is postwar made.

The bra, unfortunately, does not have a size tag. I would guess it would be best for a B cup, as it seems a bit on the small-ish side. The bra closes with hooks and eyes and there is a metal back zipper with a hook and eye at the top.

There are a few stains and some weird stitching in places (on the waist and the hem is a bit uneven). The flower pattern hides a lot of the stains somewhat well. There is a repair on the bottom of the skirt. I did notice one tiny hole in the skirt. It is wearable as is (with a slip, of course!), but the material is very lightweight and delicate.
