German Fur Coat
(B-35" W-33 1/2")
Vintage 1930s / 1940s fur jacket, purchased in Saxony, Germany.
Bust - 34 1/2" - 35"
Waist - 33 1/2"
Length - 29 1/2"
This coat came from a warehouse that was being cleaned out - it was stored in a trunk with other vintage clothing (all from the 1930s/1940s) and it looked like it hadn't been used since WWII. It is very interesting to think that this coat was just locked away, untouched, for 75+ years!
The black velvet-like jacket has a tan fur trim. I am not sure what fur it is, but I would guess rabbit. The top button is the only functioning button; the others are just decorative. There is a snap on the side on the waist, the snap is marked "PRYM" (PRYM is one of the oldest companies in German history). The sleeves are three-quarter length. The coat is lined. There is black lining inside the arms and a light tan lining on the bottom. The inside part is a tan heavy material with beige and brown designs (see last photo). There is also two long ribbons sewn into the waist area and a loop on top to help it stay on the hanger. This is very gorgeous coat (the pictures honestly do not do it justice!).
It is in overall good condition, but there is some minor wear on the ends of the sleeves and on some of the buttons. It also has some light storage wear.
