German rope bag made from WWII materials. This bag style was very common in the DDR, but I do not know if it has roots in WWII or not. This is the first bag I have seen that actually looks WWII; I have seen probably hundreds, but all were very obviously postwar East German. I will still say that I think this is probably very early postwar, but it does have potential to be a WWII example. These rope bags are usually part of Feuerwehr equipment.
Note: The post war bags I referred to above came in a few variations, some of which are passed off as rare FJ gas mask bags.
