Description
Original American 1/2L krug with a rather creepy winking man on it. It is in fairly good condition. "Gesundheit" beer was made by the Neustadtl Brewing Company in Stroudsburg, PA from 1933-1935.
Although the Gesundheit product was successful, financial issues plagued the Neustadtl Brewing Company. In March 1935, the personal property of the brewery and of Neustadtl himself went up for auction. One month later, the brewery was emptied of all of its equipment, barrels, bottles, etc. Under the supervision of federal inspectors, 30,000 gallons of Gesundheit beer was dumped into the nearby Brodhead Creek for disposal.
