Description
Original room card and wooden hanger from the Hotel Deutscher Hof in Nuremberg. This is the famous hotel which Hitler stayed at during the party rallies. The NSDAP bought the hotel property in 1935 from the Verein Lehrerheim (which they had built in 1913). They hotel was known as Das haus des Führers in Nürnberg, which is printed on the room card. The Zimmer-Ausweis card folds open and has German and English instructions inside. This seems to be from someone that was souvenir hunting in the mid-late 1930s; some people take towels, this guy took a hanger. He stayed in room 220. A very interesting piece of history and it would actually be a great way to display a Begleitkommando uniform. The hotel was badly damaged in air raids in late 1944 / early 1945. An entire corner was torn off the building and the interior was burnt out.
