Description
Vintage German Ich Hab Dich Lieb (another way to say "I love you") heart necklace. The pendant has writing on both sides. The link is marked 835 (silver). There are letters after the 835 that may be a marker mark. Overall good condition with light wear.
"Ich hab dich lieb" is a less serious version of "I love you" that doesn't have a direct English translation - like "I am very fond of you" or "I hold you dearly." It means more than "I like you". It is a common way to express love and can be used before the official "Ich liebe dich" in a relationship. Although the wording can be blurred even among Germans as far as romantic relationships go - some say its a precursor to "ich liebe dich" and others use them interchangeably. "Hab dich liebe" can be used in romantic relationships or it can also express close attachment and be used in a platonic way with friends and family whereas "ich liebe dich" is romantic love (as in "I am in love with you").
