WWI Kgl. Hof-bräuhaus München 0,5L Krug with Lid
(made between 1913-1918)
Vintage Kgl. Hof-bräuhaus München half liter beer krug with lid. This krug was produced sometime between 1913 and 1918. The abbreviation "Kgl." stands for königlich, which represents royal ownership; that dates this krug to 1918 or earlier since the monarchy was overthrown after WWI. After WWI, the company became state owned (staatlich) and "Staatl." replaced "Kgl." The lid is marked "L. Mory München" for Ludwig Mory who started his business in 1913, further helping to date it.
It is in good condition with some light wear. The inside is fairly clean.
This is a krug, not a stein. Stein is what English speakers and tourists say. In German a stein is a stone, and is not used to describe a beverage container.
