Magazine Series for the Practical Hausfrau Set of 10 Booklets

Original set of 10 household magazines and an advertising brochure for the grocery chain Edeka. These were produced by the Reichsausschuss für Volkswirtschaftliche Aufklärung produced in conjunction with the Deutschen Frauenwerk and the women's section of the Deutsche Arbeits Front.

There are a number of potentially useful tidbits inside including various methods of preserving at the time (like baked apple chips) and useful sewing and mending techniques and so on. A good study of these might give you some reenacting ideas or help put you into a period mindset.

They cover everything from recipes and rationing, to cleaning to sewing and repairing clothing to preserving food, etc. Its like a little 1930's encyclopedia of every knowledge. This is a really great set with so much insight to life on the homefront.

The booklets are in generally good shape with only light wear. The cover for the set is rather worn with one of the flaps torn off but it is still nice to have.
