Nice, hard to find set. Tailor made by J. B. Simpson, Inc. The jacket is dated 6-7-43 and the skirt is dated 5-4-43. Both pieces named to E Grey. The jacket is the first pattern with bellow type pockets (the design was revised in May 1944).
The shoulder boards snap in place. The rank is Ensign. These are the early war shoulder boards without the NNC insignia. The NNC insignia started being worn on shoulder boards after February 1942.
Overall fairly good condition with some issues. There is an orange/brown colored spot in the front middle of the skirt. There is some light overall discoloration / yellowing, but its not too detracting (I have not attempted to clean it). Very light scattered staining. A few pulls in the material and loose strings. Buttons are held in place by cotter pins (hidden behind a fabric panel). The skirt has a side metal zipper and hooks and eyes. One hook is missing and there are rust stains around the others.
