Original Afrika Korps Cuff Title

100% original Afrika Korps cuff title in good condition. The edges are folded over as they would have been when sewn to a uniform, but it doesn't really show much evidence of having been sewn onto a uniform. It seems to be full length. This is a really good example and perhaps a better option if you are looking for one to complete an original tunic as it is already pre-folded. 

There are a number of fakes out there, but this has everything you want to see in a real one. It comes down to the shape of the letters, particularly the F and the R&P and I believe the easiest way to tell an original is the nice consistency of the weave as viewed from the back. Originals are very nice, tight, and even, like this one. Fakes/repros usually look sort of blotchy or inconsistent in weave around the letters from the backside. The material itself is not a good indicator, as I have handled fakes that absolutely nailed the material, but mess up the weave or pattern. Newer repros do a better on the letters and weave but can't get the material or colors perfect. Some of the old fakes are practically made from real material but mess up the weave. Some of the old fakes get the material so correct it makes me almost question if there might have been variations but I know the collecting community would not accept it anyway, so those really good ones will pretty much always be fake.
