Description
Original bread bag with strap. It has a faint maker stamp and looks like it is dated 1940. It is in OK condition. This is a nice early example made from the early gray material with brown leather. There are two holes on the front and the leather closure is torn. There are numerous stains throughout and a small rip on the strap.
The strap matches the bag and is one of the wider variations; some collectors call this a kriegsmarine strap but it is actually just a manufacturing variation and also found in use by the Heer. If you wanted an original early war bread bag to use for reenacting, this would be a nice one, as it is not perfect, so you wouldn't have to feel too bad taking it in the field.
