This is a really neat example of a Gebirsjager rucksack from the very last days of WWII. It was never finished and is still missing the backpack straps and actually still lacks the lower buckles to even attach the straps at the bottom. There are some rust stains from storage and the steel hardware. It has the typical late war white liner material. Inside the bag, I even found a little round disk of canvas which was left over from when the grommet holes were punched into the bag. The fabric color is beautiful. The only thing stopping this from being considered stone mint are the rust stain from the hardware. Marked with an RBNr. The top is a different shade than the body of the bag.
